Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:

locates and applies relevant legislation, documentation, policies and procedures

works effectively with others to undertake and complete management of well servicing induction and orientation that meets all of the required outcomes including:

complying with written and verbal reporting requirements and procedures

communicating clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructions

communicating clearly and concisely with others to resolve coordination requirements throughout work activities

demonstrates completion of managing well servicing induction and orientation that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

communicating policies and procedures with team members

establishing and maintaining policies and procedures for:

communication hierarchy

hazard identification

personal protective equipment

materials handling

communicate rig working and living conditions with team members

identify first aid requirements and communicate with team members


Knowledge Evidence

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of managing well servicing induction and orientation through:

accessing, interpreting and applying the organisation and site requirements and procedures

maintaining company and statutory safety guidelines, procedures and practices

establishing and maintaining safe operating procedures for operating equipment

maintaining all operational procedures (safe practice)

adhering to award entitlements (e.g. overtime)

implementing safe working practice

demonstrating human management skills

maintaining company reporting procedures

knowledge of general mechanical/electrical operating functions

identifying down-hole problems and determining solutions

knowledge of hazards associated with live wells and pressure

knowledge well condition and history including gas detector USF

performing drills (e.g. fire, BOP, gas detection)
